How to Use Coghlans Flint Striker

Coghlans Flint Striker can be used in many ways, we would recommend the following method, scrape the bar to ignite your fire starting material or shavings.

  • Step 1. : You need to remove the black painted coating fromt he bar to expose the shiny ferro cerrium material. You can use the supplied striker bar or backside of a knife can be used. You will not be able to use the striker properly till the time you have properly removed this coating so that the fire starting rod underneath is revealed.
  • Step 2. : Using the supplied striker bar or the backside of your pocket knife, slide the rod along the striker bar perpendicular to the knife. Pull the rod backwards (away from the fire stater material) and keep the striker bar stationary.
