A Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking, (PCBU) is the owner or someone in control of the business. The progressive safety culture is where managers work together with the employees to create and foster a safe and productive environment, where ideas and improvement to safety is encouraged and rewarded and where employees are not scared to point out safety issues or concerns.
A good manager or supervisor needs to present himself to the employees as someone who follows safety rules at all times. They must encourage and support safety training, use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment in the workplace. They must enforce and restrict the use of unsafe work practices in their departments.
Thence, a great leader is a person whom people follow and who has an added advantage of psychological awareness of power that is used wisely.
