Soul Purpose is an experiential travel company run by women. Our destinations are often off the beaten track. Even with conventional destinations we offer a mix of adventure, culture and connect with local communities.
The idea behind each Soul Purpose trip is to travel to offbeat destinations, explore lesser known areas and add an extra dimension to the holiday by understanding and bonding closely with the local culture. Each trip is built around activities like trekking, rafting, diving, wildlife safaris, food and culture trails.
Since February, 2013, Soul Purpose has successfully organized trips ranging from river rafting expeditions to snow treks, camping, desert safaris and food and culture trails.
For more than 25 years I worked in a newsroom: the adrenalin rush that you get with breaking news, the head rush of seeing your story going as the lead story in the newspaper to working behind the scenes in a TV newsroom. Travelling to meet people, interviewing celebrities was all in a day’s work. I am now a travel and food writer for newspapers and magazines like Lonely Planet. Economic Times, New Indian Express to name a few. I have also took to running at the age of 49 and ran my first half marathon last year. Now, running has become an addiction and almost every weekend is spent participating in a running event.
I put all of my skills together to co-create a travel company that thrives on crafting special experiences for women.
I was in school when my parents took me to Kashmir, and while I was laying outside our tent watching the stars, I realized that I wanted to travel for the rest of my life. I co-founded Soul and have travelled from Nagaland to Kutch, Leh to Andamans. I have l led rafting expeditions and trekked in the Himalayas. Finding the quaintest villages, tucked away in tiny corners is my strong suit.
My camera is my constant companion and I have an eye for capturing the unusual portraits. A certified PADI Open Water Diver, trained yoga acharya and an accomplished singer are just some of my other qualifications. Travel is a great teacher and I want to journey with like-minded persons on voyages of discovery to the remotest and most adventurous places on earth.

We love to plan trips that are ‘non-touristy’, take you off the beaten track, help you experience village life in India and do some social work too while you holiday. We have tie-ups with some of the best travel companies like East Bound, Byond Travel, Rare Hotels, and Pugdundee Safaris to give you the best experiences in the country. WOMEN LOVE US
Yes, I have learnt something unique from this trip and that is "the art of stillness" in various activities -- sitting at the bonfire under the star-studded sky, the long desert safari, coming across trees like the kejri (looking like a tree on fire), Neelgai sitting in harmony with the wilderness, black bucks flirting, flocks of crane basking in the sun. Thank you Soul Purpose for giving me this opportunity to make Nature my best friend.
Samima De, Classical Musician
My experience on the Soul Purpose Urban Gypsy tour was fantastic from start to finish. Mimi and Vidya were excellent hosts, and I am so thankful that I found Soul Purpose. The tour was well organized, and I felt safe travelling in a group of women, who are now my new friends

Thanks to Soul Purpose Travel, the adventure travel for women, I could realize my dream. I could attend the Hornbill Festival held at heritage village, Kisama, in December from 1 to 10. It showcased Nagaland in all its splendour.

This was an eight-day vacation like no other for my little girl Anushka and me. From start to finish - worry free, thoughtfully planned, the professionalism of the guide, enthusiasm of the porters, the class of the chef - were outstanding! This being my 4th trip with Soul Purpose is in itself a testimony to how wonderful it's been to be with them....need I say more!!
